Thank you for visiting the Mars Hill Academy web site! Mars
Hill Academy is an independent K-12 school located in Mason, Ohio. Mars
Hill, along with a steadily growing number of schools across the country,
has revived classical and Christian
education and is a member of the Association
of Classical and Christian Schools. We believe passionately that classical
and Christian education is critical to building the kingdom of God and to
developing a distinctively Christian culture within our society. We teach
the Christian worldview and strive to love and glorify God with our heart,
soul, mind, and strength, bringing every thought into submission to Christ.
Our aim is to graduate students who have a deep understanding of their world;
the ability to discern truth, beauty, and goodness (Philippians 4:8); and
the ability to think, learn, and influence the world for the glory of God.
Mars Hill was founded in 1996 in southeast Cincinnati. Our current facility in Mason was built in 2006, and was recently featured in Learning By Design, an annual architectural publication, as an "outstanding educational facility." The building design is in keeping with a Christian philosophy regarding aesthetics as the Apostle Paul outlines in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things." Our building is located on 13 acres just off of 1-71 near Tylersville Road, and features a grammar school wing, a rhetoric school wing, a well-equipped science room ,a library, a music room, an atrium and two large common areas. Today, 216 students are enrolled at MHA. Mars Hill provides its students with an engaging atmosphere in which to think, to study, to master and to achieve. The average MHA student regularly scores in the top ten percent on national standardized tests, participates in our well-rounded academic, aesthetic, and athletic program, and thrives in the midst of a school culture characterized by honor, respect, and joy. Our staff consists of exemplary Christian men and women who love their students, their subjects, and the teaching vocation and who desire to share their knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in a Christian academic setting.
The education of children for God is the most important business done on Earth. It is one business for which the Earth exists. To it all politics, all war, all literature, all money-making, ought to be subordinated; and every parent especially ought to feel, every hour of the day, that, next to making his own calling and election sure, this is the end for which he is kept alive by God – this is his task on Earth.
