Fostering Connection

Mars Hill Academy’s clan system fosters connection through the formation of small communities throughout the entire student body. All students, faculty, and staff belong to one of four Scottish clans (Campbell, MacGregor, Stewart, and Wallace). Within these clans, students have the opportunity for fellowship, leadership, service, friendly competition, and mentoring. The clan system creates communities in which virtue is cultivated in the hearts of students (e.g., courage, friendship, responsibility, cheerfulness, and devotion), and relationships are built across grade levels. Each year, new students are inducted into the clans, where they will remain members throughout their Mars Hill experience.
