At Mars Hill Academy students have the opportunity to expand their classroom studies and explore the world around them through educational travel. From local and regional field trips to travel across the country, students grow their understanding as well as build community through these unique, hands-on learning experiences.
Grammar School
Field trips complement the Mars Hill curriculum by providing an opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience with the topics they study. Some favorite Grammar School trips include: Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at Music Hall and Taft Theatre, local farms, Krohn Conservatory, Cincinnati Zoo, Loveland Castle, a tour of Cincinnati Cathedrals, and the capitol building in Columbus.
Logic and Rhetoric School
Beginning In seventh grade, students start venturing a little farther from home in their educational exploration. A campout at John Bryan State Park; Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama; a tour of Gettsyburg; and the antiquities tour in Chicago are a few upper school highlights.
Worldview Summit
A pinnacle of the Mars Hill student life experience is the annual Worldview Summit every January. Student leaders plan and execute this three-day forum in which our students in grades 9-12 travel to Washington, D.C. to engage with outstanding speakers from academia, advocacy organizations, public policy institutions, and Congress to address pressing cultural topics of our day.
